Salt

Salt is a mineral seasoning harvested from the sea or mined from salt deposits on Starsand Island. As one of the oldest and most fundamental of all cooking ingredients, salt enhances and deepens the flavor of virtually every dish, making it an indispensable kitchen staple. Its availability on a coastal island is natural — the surrounding ocean is an essentially limitless source.

Salt is used as a seasoning ingredient across a huge range of cooking recipes on the island. It also has utility in food preservation and some processing recipes. Players will consume Salt in large quantities through active cooking and should establish a reliable source early — whether through seawater evaporation, mining, or purchasing from the general store.
