Cotton is a fluffy, fiber-bearing crop harvested from bolls that burst open when mature, revealing the soft white fibers within. Grown in warm farm plots on Starsand Island, cotton is the island's primary textile crop alongside hemp and flax — its soft, breathable fibers making it the natural choice for comfortable clothing and lightweight fabric production.

Raw Cotton is processed into Thread and then woven into Cloth at a textile station, feeding directly into the island's clothing and furniture crafting chains. Players who grow cotton consistently will maintain a steady supply of the basic cloth that so many early and mid-game recipes require, making it one of the most practically important crops to have in rotation.
