Silica

Silica is a refined mineral compound produced by processing quartz on Starsand Island. Silicon dioxide — the chemical name for silica — is one of the most abundant compounds in the earth's crust and is the foundational material for making glass. On the island, silica serves as the intermediate step between raw quartz crystals and finished glass products used in building and crafting.

Silica is the key ingredient for producing Glass Bricks and Glass Panes, which are used in construction and advanced crafting recipes. Players planning to build glass-windowed structures or craft items that require glass components should ensure they have a pipeline of quartz being refined into silica at their workbench.
