Pickaxe

The Pickaxe is the entry-level mining tool in Starsand Island, crafted at Worktable I from stone and basic materials. Used to break rocks and ore deposits, it is one of the first tools players craft and an essential foundation for the game's entire resource gathering system. Stone, ore, and minerals extracted with the Pickaxe feed into crafting, construction, and tool upgrades throughout the game.

The Pickaxe can mine common stone and early ore types but is eventually outpaced by the Impact Hammer and Blast Hammer for harder deposits and faster clearing. As players progress through the Worktable upgrade path, more powerful mining tools become available. Nevertheless, the Pickaxe serves as the critical starting point for all mineral extraction on the island and remains useful for basic stone gathering well into the mid-game.
